Thursday Cottage from Somerset, England has more than 50 years experience in preserving excellence, and after experimenting with several different brands, we can say we definitely agree! And, that is why we selected their very yummy Mincemeat for our pies and Pretty Things & Cool Stuff.
Thursday Cottage was started in 1963 in a cottage of the same name outside Spaxton, Somerset, England. It later moved to Essex, but nothing much has changed since then — the batches are still small, with about 100 jars made from every boil, using the finest ingredients and recipes that are simple and deliciously fresh.
All of Thursday Cottage's products are handmade in small batches and cooked in traditional pans. They stir the fresh ingredients by hand and fill the glass jars by hand because you get more whole fruit by hand pouring, which means a more hearty and fruity taste.
We love their recyclable glass jars of traditionally-handmade preserves that are so full of flavor that you will make your mince pies a hit! Thursday Cottage's Mincemeat is full of all the best fruits and currants, and it is richly flavoured with brandy and spices.
If you want your mince pies for the holidays and more to be the richest and fruitiest, then you definitely will want to use Thursday Cottage's small-batch, traditionally handmade Mincemeat. It's even suitable for vegetarians!
